IT Systems Administrator

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, is responsible for implementation and support of Information Management related services within Harvey | Harvey-Cleary’s infrastructure. Ensures that all systems are functional. Provide troubleshooting on a wide range of technology issues, address help desk tickets as a point of escalation, and work on various projects which will require a deep understanding of the Microsoft stack.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Monitors and resolves Level 1/2/3 support tickets, documenting all activities performed in ticket resolution
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to lead in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Manage backups, perform upgrades and system updates as necessary, oversee systems monitoring
  • Author, document and maintain all system and network documentation, as well as internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities
  • Installs or assists with the installation and set-up of new hardware, software, and peripheral equipment
  • Install and configure Cisco, Meraki and Cradlepoint equipment in the field and configure IPSec VPNs
  • Develops and support scripts and tools used for orchestration and automation tasks
  • Evaluating and optimizing network and/or other systems’ performance
  • Maintains physical and virtual server hardware (Hyper-V) and operating systems to ensure reliability of server applications
  • Makes needed upgrades and repairs to networks (on and offsite) and ensures that systems are operating correctly
  • Performs backup and recovery of data and information on all corporate servers/systems as needed
  • Provides back-end server support for Windows, including standing up new servers/containers and maintaining existing infrastructure
  • Design, implement and maintain WiFi across temporary trailers at job sites and at branch offices using Meraki WAPs
  • Developing, maintaining, and supporting technical infrastructure components, including hardware, virtual infrastructure, and software components
  • Migrating on-premise systems to cloud environments
  • Desire to continue learning current and future technologies

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient in supporting Microsoft 365, Intune, Teams, Power BI, and Azure Active Directory
  • Experience in supporting Azure for IaaS
  • Proficient with current Microsoft Server and client operating systems, managing Active Directory, including user administration, group policy management, and site architecture
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Knowledgeable in Apple and Android mobile device management
  • Must be able to perform duties accurately and independently
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Thorough understanding of technology commonly used by clients and employees
  • Ability to explain technical problems to nontechnical employees
  • Has the ability to develop training materials and/or provides onsite training as requested
  • Must be able to effectively communicate recommendations, changes, and/or improvements in the cloud infrastructure and network design to leadership
  • Understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANS, WLAN, VPN
  • Unified Communications/VoIP experience is a plus

Education and Experience:

5-10 years of experience is required, Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred. Experience and professional certification may be substituted for degree requirement.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to

finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and see, talk or hear. The employee is

frequently required to stand, walk, carry, or pull. The employee may be required to climb, bend or

squat on occasion. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 20-35 pounds and occasionally

lift or pull 35-80 pounds.
