Austin Energy Headquarters

The Catellus Commercial Office Building is a four-story, 274,000 SF office build-out in the Mueller Development for Austin Energy. The lobby features terrazzo flooring shaped to emulate the specific portion of the Colorado river that runs through Austin. The lobby is completed with wood paneling on the ceilings and walls. The lobby also features a 6,000 pound decommissioned turbine from Austin Energy’s Decker Lake Power Plant. The structural and logistic coordination needed not only move the turbine into the almost complete building, but to also stabilize the once rotating turbine was a true team effort between Harvey-Cleary, Austin Energy, engineers, and multiple subcontractors. The turbine hangs from the second floor ceiling directly above the main entrance.
