HID Global Corporation

The HID Global project located in North Austin is a 240,000 SF office and manufacturing facility that will serve as headquarters for HID’s North American operations. The project includes a 200,000 SF concrete tiltwall building with 40,000 SF of second level office mezzanine overlooking the factory floor. The focal point of the exterior of the building is the entire north elevation which consists of radius glass curtainwall with aluminum composite panels and soffits. The project includes the development of the surrounding 22-acre site including 240,000 SF of concrete paving, asphalt parking lots, utility infrastructure and extensive hardscaping and landscaping.

The interior construction was completed on a six-month schedule with four phased turnover dates to allow for expedited occupancy of critical manufacturing sectors. Interior finishes include stainless steel and diamond polished concrete floors, monumental stair and catwalks with terrazzo treads and stainless steel and glass handrails, Alucabond-clad interior columns, natural and cast stone veneers, and 12-foot tall butt-glazed window partitions. The project sought to achieve LEED Gold but ended up qualifying for and certifying as LEED Platinum, making it the first corporate interior manufacturing project in the state of Texas to do so.
